About Us

The Karuah Progress Association Inc is a non-profit organisation dedicated to enhancing the Karuah community in New South Wales, Australia. Its mission is to improve residents’ quality of life through social, economic and environmental initiatives.

Key activities include:

Community Engagement

Organising events to strengthen local ties and celebrate community strengths.

Advocacy

Representing Karuah's needs to local governments and stakeholders for beneficial policies and projects.

Community-Led Projects

Supporting initiatives like town beautification, infrastructure improvements, and economic opportunities.

Collaboration

Promoting volunteerism by creating opportunities for residents to contribute to community projects and activities.

Through these efforts, the Karuah Progress Association Inc aims to build a vibrant, resilient, and thriving community that meets the needs of its residents while preserving the natural beauty and significance of the Karuah region.

Completion of the Karuah Bridge Mural in partnership with NSW Transport, Port Stephens Council, Karuah Public School, community consultation and artist Jordan Lucky of Playstate.
Various beautification projects including the Karuah Parklet on Tarean Road and planting of the median strip in partnership with Port Stephens Council, Albert Johns Mill, Wild Weeds, community volunteers any many others.
Creation of the Karuah website with thanks to funding from the Foundation for Rural and Regional Development and Jezweb Web Services.

Regular Meetings

Meetings are held throughout the year at 7pm on the 4th Wednesday of each month at the Karuah RSL meeting room. We welcome new members, volunteers and community support.
