2026 Stroud Bicentenary Celebration

Two centuries ago Robert Dawson and the Australian Agricultural Company established what was to become the historic town of Stroud, in the Karuah Valley of NSW.

Stroud 200 Bicentenary is a week‑long celebration of our town’s people, heritage and stories, with a vibrant mix of events and activities for everyone to enjoy.

This November, all roads lead to Stroud as we celebrate 200-plus years of community, history and connection. Stroud’s Bicentenary is a ten-day community-led celebration honouring the town’s founding, its rich heritage, and a story that started long before the town did.

The program runs 20–29 November 2026 and includes an Official Opening Ceremony, heritage walks, the ‘Stroud 1826’ theatre production, Monastery and St John’s Church open days, ghost tours, a progressive dinner, trivia and film nights, poetry and storytelling, a Debutante Ball, and late-night shopping on Main Street.

The celebration culminates in Back to Stroud Day on Saturday 28 November (8am–8pm) — a full day festival at Stroud Showground featuring a historic transport show, art exhibition, bullock wagon and sulky rides, traditional artisan demonstrations, rodeo exhibition, market stalls, kids’ activities, and an evening concert featuring The Bushwhackers — plus much, much more.
